Fright Night 3D

leave a comment »

Fright Night is a 3D horror comedy film directed by Craig Gillespie. It is a remake of the 1985 Tom Holland film of the same name.

I thought that the trailer looked fairly good so I decided to go and see it. I thought that the film had a good cast and the plot was ok. The film has a good mix of action, scares and also funny moments. This film is nothing special but still kept me entertained. I would recommend this film if you like Shaun of the Dead or other scary/spoof films.

The Inbetweeners Movie is a 2011 British comedy film directed by Ben Palmer, who directed all six episodes of the second series of The Inbetweeners, and produced by Christopher Young who produced all three series of the TV show. The film follows the four main characters on holiday in Malia, Crete.

I went to see this film not having watched the television series so I didnt really know what to expect and didnt know much about the characters. I have to say that I thought this film was extremely funny! I found myself laughing throughout the whole film. I have now started watching the series as a result and Im now a huge fan. This film is worth going to see if you like comedy.

Final Destination 5

Final Destination 5 is a 2011 3D horror film written by Eric Heisserer and directed by Steven Quale. It is the fifth installment to the Final Destination film franchise and stars Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner, and Tony Todd (who is the only returning cast member of the series).

I have seen some of the previous films and really loved the very first but felt that each film had become less entertaining. I thought that this film was ok- the plot has no originality and is a bit gimmicky. The film made me laugh more than scare me. Its worth seeing if your a fan of gory films but it really doesnt offer anything new.

Conan the Barbarian

leave a comment »

Conan the Barbarian is a 3-D sword and sorcery film based on the character Conan the Barbarian created by Robert E. Howard. The film, shot in 2010 and released in 2011, is a new interpretation of the Conan mythology, and is not related to the films featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It stars Jason Momoa in the titular role, alongside Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, and Bob Sapp with Marcus Nispel directing.

I was excited to see this film as im a fan of graphic novels and was familiar with the story of Conan. I thought that this film had tonnes of fast paced action and some impressive fight scenes. The film had some good CGI but the film got a little bit lost towards the end. Still worth a watch if you like films such as Solomon Kane.

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (often referred to as Spy Kids 4D) is an American 4D action-adventure family film directed by Robert Rodriguez and the fourth installment in the Spy Kids series.

I have seen the previous films in the series when I was younger and used to enjoy them. I went to see this with my younger brother who enjoyed this film. I thought that it was actually quite funny at times. The plot is a bit weak but this didnt matter and still makes for a good family film.
