Little Fockers is a 2010 American film and sequel to the films Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. The film stars Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Dustin Hoffman, Barbra Streisand and Jessica Alba.

The film is about Greg and Pam who are married with children. The film focuses on them raising their cheeky son who makes their lives a wreck.

I enjoyed this film. I didn’t think that the film had much of a plot and therefore felt a bit lost at times. The film has a very impressive cast and the film is very funny at times. The film delivers exactly what you would expect from a Meet the Parents movie. I thought that Ben Stillers and Robert De Niros relationship is what makes the film funny.

Worth a watch if you fancy something lighthearted and funny over the xmas holidays.

Film Rating: 7.5/10

Burlesque

I recently saw Burlesque at the cinema which is a 2010 contemporary Golden Globe nominated musical film that is directed and written by Steven Antin. The film stars Cher and Christina Aguilera.

The film is about a small-town girl who decides to move to LA to find her place in a burlesque club. She starts out as a waitress but soon ends up becoming a bigger and more important part of the club than she expected!

I actually really enjoyed this film and I thought that Christina Aguilera was very impressive in the lead role. The plot feels very unoriginal and similar to other films such as Nine, Crossroads and Coyote Ugly. The soundtrack is good and the film offers enough drama and humour to keep you entertained throughout.

A decent film, good soundtrack and strong cast.

Animals United

I saw Animals United at the cinema today. The film has an impressive voice over cast that includes people like James Corden, Jim Broadbent and Dawn French to name just a few.

I have to say that this film was very disappointing. The film doesn’t have a very good plot. The film felt very disjointed and lost in my opinion. The animation and 3D actually looked visually very good but the film was fairly boring and wasnt very funny.

A disappointing kids film

Tron

I recently got to see Tron at the cinema which is a 2010 American science fiction film that is produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Joseph Kosinski makes his feature film directorial debut. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde and Michael Sheen.

Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn, looks into his fathers disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron.

I was quite excited to see this film as I remember watching the original when I was younger. The film has a good plot with some brilliant actors. I especially enjoyed Michael Sheens performance. The film has a lot of impressive special effects, CGI and animation. The film is a visually stunning triumph but at times I felt that it felt a little claustrophobic because it was so heavily done with special effects.

A good Sci Fi action film that the whole family will enjoy

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a 2010 3D fantasy-adventure film that is based on the famous novel. The film is the third in the series.

The film is set a year after the previous film, the two younger Pevensies Edmund and Lucy are transported back to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace Scrubb. They join the new King of Narnia, Caspian in his quest to rescue seven lost lords to save Narnia from a corrupting evil that resides on a dark island.

I thought that this film was ok but I prefer the first film which in my opinion is still the best. This storyline feels a bit less interesting I thought that it got a bit lost at times. I thought that the film had some good special effects.

A decent family film

The Tourist

The Tourist is a 2010 thriller film that is directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. The film stars Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. The film is a remake of the 2005 French film Anthony Zimmer.

The film is about a man called Frank, an American tourist who visits Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path.

I was pleased that I saw this film as I thought that it was fairly original. The film was good because it had a good mixture of drama, action, romance and comedy. I thought that Johnny Depp was good in the lead role and was interesting to see him play a slightly different character than he normally does.

This film is worth seeing if you like Mr and Mrs Smith

I saw Secretariat at the cinema which is a 2010 American biographical film that is produced by Walt Disney. The film is directed by Randall Wallace. The film is about a racehorse called Secretariat- the Triple Crown winner. The film stars Diane Lane and John Malkovich.

I went to see this film not knowing anything about Secretariat. I thought that the film had a good cast and the story was very interesting. The film felt very genuine and was filmed well. I found the story really absorbing and kept me entertained throughout. This film is worth going to see if you like films such as Seabiscuit.

Megamind 3D

I recently saw Megamind at the cinema in 3D which is an animated superhero film that is produced by DreamWorks Animation. The film Features the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, David Cross and Brad Pitt. The film is directed by Tom McGrath.

The film is about a supervillain called Megamind who finally conquers his nemesis, the hero Metro Man… but finds his life becomes pointless without a hero to fight.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this animated film and was surprised that I liked it so much. I thought that the plot was original and in my opinion is a very unique kids film. Its funny, sweet, quirky and has an impressive cast. The animation is really slick and looks really impressive in 3D.

A very good animated film

Monsters

I saw Monsters at the cinema which is a 2010 British science fiction film, written, cinematographer and directed by Gareth Edwards. The film stars Whitney Able and Scoot McNairy in the lead roles.

The film takes place in Mexico where there are areas that have been quarantined as an infection has spread from alien lifeforms. The military still struggle to contain the massive creatures. The film starts with a US journalist who agrees to find his boss’ daughter and escort her home. They soon realise that getting home is going to be a lot harder than they first thought.

I was really looking forward to seeing this film at the cinema as im a fan of science fiction films. I have to say that this film wasnt what I expected. I was expecting lots of action but this was very different- in my opinion I thought that this was a really good film that is genuinely original. It has an interesting mix of drama, action, horror, suspense and romance. The two actors in the lead roles give very strong performances that kept me absorbed. Not much actually happens throughout the film but due to the style of filming the director manages to create a lot of tension that keeps you absorbed and on the edge of your seat.

This is definitely worth going to see if you like films such as Cloverfield, War of the Worlds or District 9.

London Boulevard

On Tuesday I got to see London Boulevard at the cinema which is a crime/drama/romance film based on a novel by Ken Bruen with screenplay and direction by William Monahan, marking his directional debut. The film stars Keira Knightly, Colin Farrell, David Thewlis, Anna Friel and Ray Winstone.

The film is about a film star hiding from the outside world in a mansion. She hires a London criminal recently released from prison to be her bodyguard. She ends up falling in love with him.

Overall I thought that this was a good film with a good story. I really liked the cast and I thought that Colin Farrell was good in the lead role. The film is violent, gritty and intense. The film is a bit slow at times and occasionally gets a bit lost but overall it was very good.

I loved this film
