Thor 3D

Thor is a 2011 American superhero film based on comic book character of the same name published by Marvel Comics and is the fourth film released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, and Stellan Skarsgård with Kenneth Branagh directing a script by Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz, and Don Payne.

I was excited to see this film as I love superhero movies and Marvel Comics. I thought that this film was fairly good but not amazing in my opinion. The film has some amazing special effects and visuals but is let down by the fairly generic plot. The film has a good cast and I would recommend this film if you like Iron Man, Spider Man or any other super hero movies.

Arthur

Arthur is a 2011 comedy film written by Peter Baynham and directed by Jason Winer. The film is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name written and directed by Steve Gordon. It stars Russell Brand in the title role, and Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig, and Nick Nolte with supporting roles.

I went to see this film last week and was pleased I did as I found it very funny. I thought that Russell Brand was very funny and gives one of his best performances in the films that I have seen him in. The film isn’t particularly original in terms of the plot but it’s still worth going to see if you fancy something lighthearted and funny.

Beastly

Beastly is a 2011 romantic fantasy film based on Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same name. It is a retelling of the fairytale Beauty and the Beast set in modern-day New York City. The film is written and directed by Daniel Barnz and stars Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer.

The plot focuses on Kyle Kingson, a wealthy and arrogant high school student. During an environmental event, he disrespects a classmate, who is secretly a witch in disguise. The witch then casts a spell on Kyle to disfigure his body and face, giving him a year to find love or be left with his monstrous appearance forever.

I went to see this film with my girlfriend and we both really enjoyed it. I thought that it was an interesting idea to retell the original story of Beauty and the Beast. The film has a young fresh faced cast. The film is heartwarming and has some sweet moments. This film is perfect for couples to go and see.

I loved this film

Scream 4

Scream 4 (stylized as SCRE4M) is a 2011 American slasher film and the fourth installment in the Scream series. It was directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, writer of Scream and Scream 2. It stars an ensemble cast of David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere. The plot involves Sidney Prescott returning to Woodsboro after ten years as part of her book tour. As soon as she arrives, Ghostface once again begins killing students from Woodsboro High.

I was excited to see this film as I love horror films and I remember watching the old Scream movies a while ago. I would describe the film as a reboot rather than a sequel. The film does feature some of the original cast but also has some new faces. I actually thought that this film also had some funny moments. The film keeps you guessing and also has a pretty decent ending that I think a lot of people wont see coming.

If you like Twilight then you will like this film

Your Highness

Your Highness is a 2011 fantasy comedy film directed by David Gordon Green. Filming began in the summer of 2009 in Northern Ireland and concluded in October 2009. The film was released in theatres on April 8, 2011.

I went to see this film a little while ago and I was very excited to see it as I love a lot of the actors in the film. I thought that James Franco was very funny and made me laugh throughout. The film is very funny but wont be to everyones taste as the humour is a bit childish and quite rude at times. I would recommend this film if you liked films such as Pineapple Express.

This is one of my favourite films this year!

Sucker Punch

leave a comment »

Sucker Punch is a 2011 action-fantasy thriller film about the fantasies of a young woman who is committed to a mental institution. It was written by Steve Shibuya and Zack Snyder, directed by Snyder [2][3] and the cast includes Emily Browning as the central character, Babydoll.

“Sucker Punch” is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

This film has received a lot of negative reviews but it is actually one of my favourite films this year so far! The film is unlike any other film out at the moment and is really very original. The plot is fairly basic but this doesnt matter as this is a visual feast jam- packed with action and incredible special effects. I loved the style of the film and also it has an awesome soundtrack. This film is well worth going to see if you liked 300, Watchmen, The Spirit or Sin City.
